To Garden or Not to Garden?
Article by Jordan Rocksmith
You are sitting on the patio outside your home. An occasional bird flies by. You breathe in and then breathe out. The polluted diesel exhaust of a passing truck fills your lungs. You look at your yard, several blades of grass fight through the forest of weeds to reach sunlight. Only one of the five flowers you planted six years ago remains standing. The weeds surrounding it thirst for its downfall and you can faintly hear them rejoice as they ponder their complete domination of your lawn. It is a pathetic scene. Your patio experience is not ranking high on the enjoyable scale. What are you going to do? You want to change something, but what? Suddenly a home gardening magazine flies through the hair and smacks you in the face. You pull it form your face and your eyes begin to focus on the picture featured on the page. There you see it. The most amazing home garden ever, stares you in the eyes. Rows and rows of daffodils, daisies and sunflowers. A waterfall descends from the nook of flowers into the vegetable basin where tomatoes, cucumbers and carrots grow freely.
