Make Money With eBay: Five Free Tips to Bring in the Cash.
Article by Peter Makinson
To beat the competition in any walk of life you must be a little bit smarter, more knowledgeable, more committed. This isn’t as hard as you may think because the vast majority have a ‘that will do’ attitude. If you want to rise above mediocrity you need to arm yourself with the tools to do just that by studying the way the successful people are doing things. This is made simple with eBay because with a little know how you can spy on your competition to see who is doing well and who is not. Then all that remains is to follow the lead of the guys and girls who are bringing home the money. Here’s how to look over the shoulders of the best eBayers out there, followed by more great ways to help you become ‘better than the rest’.
* You can check which products are selling well by using the advanced search option which can be found at the top right of the page. Type in the details of the item you are researching then click on the completed listings box. Click on search and you will have details of which items have sold and for how much. It is easy to identify the products that have sold because they are highlighted in green. The unsold items will be red. Even better, you can see the prices that are being achieved so you have a very good idea if you can enter this market and make a profit based on what you can obtain your goods for as well as factoring in eBay charges.
* Another great way to discover a possible profitable market is by using eBays’ pulse pages. These can be accessed at http://pulse.ebay.co.uk or the relevant country site.
* To find which items are currently visited most often go to the bottom of the page where you can readily see the information displayed there for you.
* Towards the top of the page on the left you will see displayed the most popular keywords people are using to find the products they are interested in. These are really useful to you because you will want to make sure that if you were to sell these products you are using these same keywords when listing and describing yours, in order for them to be found by the greatest number of potential customers.
* To refine your search further you may click on a specific category and then drill down deeper still by entering a sub category. I will do this now as I write this article by way of example. You can follow me if you are all fired up with enthusiasm which I am sure you are. Go to the eBay pulse page as I have described to you. We are going to click on Home and Garden in the category listings for this exercise. You will see displayed for you the most popular keywords that have been used by people searching here. Next click on the drop down menu again and select a sub category and you will see the most popular keywords used again. Simple isnt it.
Use these techniques to rise above the competition. Remember most folks will just want to get their items and list them as quickly as possible. You meanwhile will have researched the market beforehand to see what to sell and how much you may expect to achieve. Remember just a little extra effort will make lot of difference to your future success.
