Natural homemade weed killers that work

If you love your lawn and garden, but it is susceptible to weeds, you may be looking for a weed killer that will help you maintain a beautiful garden. However, chemical weed killers can be poisonous and dangerous when you have a home with children or pets. Here are some homemade weed killers that work and are safe to use.

A simple mixture – Add a gallon of vinegar, a cup of salt or borax, with a tablespoon of dish soap into a spray bottle. If your spray nozzle doesn’t have options, be careful as this mixture will damage your plants if it comes into contact with it. It is important to note that if you are using borax, this mixture can be strong and can prevent plants from growing anywhere around that area.

Newspaper – For those gardens that are infected with weeds, address the issue with newspaper. Lay down your paper over your weeds and leave it that way for a few days. After a few days, the weeds will die, then top the area with mulch so that weeds will not grow.

Boiling water – This inexpensive method involves, pouring boiling water on your weeds, which will kill them right away. But remember to pour the water slowly so that you are not splashed or burned.

Lemon juice – Lemon is an intense citrus fruit that is great as a weed killer. If you want to make, an extra strong formula add vinegar to the mix.
