Selling on Ebay – the theory

Selling on Ebay – the theory

Article by Andy Bolton

In any business situation your knowledge will stand you head and shoulders above your competitors. So if you try to build a business without knowledge you’ll have to fight with this equation – Dumb = Zero Sales : or profit from using this equation – Knowledge = Plenty of Money. To clarify this theory further we can draw a parallel with jobs and careers, the greater the knowledge the greater the income in your career!

EBay themselves suggest that sellers look to be different and to be noticed. It is very easy to get lost in the crowd, as there are thousands of sellers out there selling the same kind of products. All your efforts and money will go down the drain if no one buys your products. Listed below are some tips that you can use to draw buyers to your eBook auctions.

Ebay and making an impression! Don’t just blindly follow the herd and use some interesting graphics that can set you apart from the crowd. Also, it is important to have a good title, to invoke the interest of buyers. Having seen hundreds of eBooks on the same topics, they are likely to ignore yours, unless the title grabs their attention.

The beauty about auctions is that you will find promoting goods and services could be extremely lucrative, so long as you know the techniques, tips and secrets required to display your auction best. Items you previously believed to be of little value can occasionally bring a lot more than your initial thought.

Most people have attempted promoting on online auctions before. Perhaps you sold some items about the home. Perhaps you even chose some items from your garden or garage. But the greatest pleasure is discovering products that you simply can purchase regularly and offer it on online auctions for profit – each and every week.

Be smart regarding your online auctions! As being smart outweighs mass auctions. Don’t think that setting up 20 auctions will make you more money than setting up just one well calculated auction. Discover everything that you simply can about internet auctions and how you can be effective on the web auctions. To create money this way does needs a dedication to help keep moving forward.

One particular method that many use is to buy at auction and sell at auction. Except the one major difference between the two is that your process of selling is more powerful that the original selling effort. You will be able to win items at a fraction of the normal retail price which means great savings for you. The Ebay excitement comes from the bidding process. If there is a particular item that you love, you will be able to bid while other people may try to outbid you on the same item. It will take strategy and a quick hand to be the winner.

The whole antique business relies upon the principle of buying cheap and selling to the right audience. Another example is specialist cars. When you advertise a very special car in your local car magazine, few people will be excited about the prospect of purchasing it. Of course that is a principle in economics, supply and demand. If there is no demand the chances of selling are slim. Improve the demand and you sell for big bucks. Ebay especially is nationwide and a specialist car will have more interest nationwide than locally.

Here is another business concept… Most people don’t realise you can use eBay to build your mailing list, this is something I have been doing for years and as long as you obey eBay’s rules you will have no problems. You can list an item on eBay for as little as 20 cents. So it’s logical to think if you can capture only one subscriber from that listing that it is money well spent. To do this is not very hard if you do things right. First of all eBay don’t allow external links from your auctions unless it’s something related to the product you are selling. But eBay do allow you to link to your eBay store and about me page. And from your about me page you are allowed to link to your own websites, you are also allowed to add a subscriber opt-in form. EBay don’t have a problem with this.
